Newlin Creek Trail and Penrose Apples 8/9/12

Hiked to an abandoned 1887 sawmill (not much left) on Newlin Creek trail in the Wet Mountains in Florence Mountain Park.  Afterwards went to Penrose where early apples are ready (Galas and Johnathans).  The Newlin Creek Trail was a nice find - out of our usual area but not too far.  Few people think to head south from the Springs for hiking, so it felt like a hidden gem, even though there were a handful of other people met on the trail.
