Paint Mines (Calhan, CO) 7/21/12 (First of Shahr Ramadan)

Nice trail out on the plains - the Paint Mines are definitely worth seeing at least once.  But be warned, in summer they can be an oven and get dangerously hot.

That is a wonderful lizard in the last image! Which family is it from? Is it a young uromastyx? Very beautiful. The colors on the mountains are quite beautiful too.
Have a blessed Ramzan!

That is my favorite kind of lizard - lots of us around here had them as pets as kids. It is called a Horned Lizard, or a "Horny Toad". That is its full size. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horned_lizard

Ramadan Mubarak - I hope it is a blessed month.
